About this project

Earthbeats becomes an operating project within the EU intervention We are the Planet, in which it has been included as artistic workshop. Thousand of pupils have been involved in Spain, Italy,Cyprus and Slovenia during its two-years activities, gathering spontaneous sounds and building sound objects using recycled materials.

The workshop was divided into two stages:

• The first stage was dedicated to the educational examination of the 7^th Millennium Goal with practice exercises, report of experiences from other places through videos, photos and a deep analysis of the relationships with the population of Burkina Faso and Benin as project's partners;
• The second stage was characterized by an artistic approach focused on the spontaneous sound as a means to express one's own impressions on the surrounding reality. This approach was open to all potentials of the free invention and involved the use of any conventional, invented, found, built-up instrument, with different modulation and intensity.
